This is the worst product

Edit: Customer service reached out considering our recurring issues every couple months. Tue original warranty was still in play and they replaced the watch. I appreciate their customer service as they’ve always been kind and trying to offer help. I updated my review from 1 star to 3 stars for customer service. I will update this review in about 6-9mo once we have used this watch for a while and I can say it no longer has the same issues. If that’s the case, I’d update my review to more stars and chock up our experience to malfunction, one off watches. This is the worst product. I love their mission and their customer service is friendly, but we've had two watches over the last five years and both have been nothing but trouble. The first gen watch would often not connect to service and would have issues sending and receiving texts. When the Gabb watch 3 came out with upgraded features I was excited, but this one has proved to be even WORSE! WE've had it for a year now while my other child has the older version watch. That one has no issues now that a newer watch has come out, but this newer Gabb 3 watch will constantly stop sending or receiving texts every 2-3 months. My son is still able to call, but the kids generally want to text and sometimes I'm not in a position where I can take a call and need the text function. Everytime this happens, I have to spends hours online with CS for them to "fix things" on their end. Nothing changes. Then they ask me to factory reset which means the watch loses all of its contacts. We've done this 4 times in the last year. This time, they couldn't get it to work after a factory reset so they issued a new number and had me factory reset again. They did offer for me to add the $5/mo protection plan and pay an additional $40 to replace the watch. They want MORE MONEY to fix their problem when I've been paying monthly for a service that doesn't work!?!? Now I have to update every contact with the watch's new number and get everyone else's number added to the contacts list again. I wish I never bought this watch...BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Unreliable service

When Gabb was first introduced it was a great device for the kid’s first device, but after a short time the updates that were rolled out literally broke the device and it started becoming more and more unreliable. It started with the location not updating and the device literally freezing to where the only thing that would fix it was to power it off and restart it. With the update to fix that problem, the update made the location update worse and the child’s contacts could not contact them, only the controlling parent on the account could contact the child or the child could only contact the controlling parent, again the only way to fix this problem was to reset the device and this would happen 1, 2, sometimes 3 times a day. The device became totally unreliable, Gabb could never give any solutions except to say there was yet another update coming to fix the problem. Problem was every update made the device worse. When someone pays for something, it should be reliable and work with minimal issues, not daily issues and very unreliable. This is the same as fraud and the company should be banned from doing business. You Gabb, will not find an account for me any longer, it has been deleted as of today. This was after several attempts to get you to go back to your original program or fix the issues you created when your tech team screwed it up so bad, I have given you all the chances I’m going to give you and I will spread the word how bad Gabb has become in hopes of steering people away from making the same mistake as I did.

I am really excited to get this phone…

I am really excited to get this phone to simplify my life but so far it has only made it more confusing. I have tried now multiple times to activate and transfer phones to no avail. I hope it gets worked out and someone can help me….
