Travel Guard Tracking Order Status

We traveled to South America had Travelgard insurance. We could not get to Machu Picchu in Peru because of political unrest and a transportation country wide strike. The US Stare Department advised of not traveling in Peru after we got to Chile. Travelgard would not pay the upcharge in return flights home even though things such as this were covered. They skinne out trying to find loopholes. We thought they were a reputable division of AIG. WE ARE FINISHED WITH TRAVELGARD AND TRAVEL INSURANCE. Now, I just but medical travel insurance from the airline.

I'm so glad that I decided to get this insurance when I bought my tickets. My flight was cancelled due to mechanics' strike and eventually missed my connecting flight. I got new tickets for my two flights and was reimbursed for all my expenses. It was easy to contact TG representatives by phone and email. Thanks for being efficient. Highly recommended!

I purchased a Travel Guard Insurance policy when I purchased airline tickets from Expedia. Due to a sudden health issue, I had to cancel our trip to Italy. Yesterday, I filed my claim online to Travel Guard. The process was simple. I had no idea what the response from the claims department would be. Having to cancel our trip at the last moment was a huge disappointment for my wife and I. This morning I received an email from Travel Guard advising us that our claim was approved, and a check was being processed for the full amount of our claim. Really, we were pleasantly surprised. This very fast reply helped lessen the frustration we are feeling about having to cancel our trip. Prior to filing our claim I had spoken to several Travel Guard representatives. I was very impressed with their professionalism, and how helpful they were. All I can say, is that in the future any trip I take I will definitely insure it with Travel Guard. Putting this review on hold because the company is now trying to work with me. My husband also reminded me that when we had to cancel a family trip to Costa Rica because my mother had a stroke the night before we were to leave, AIG helped us to get our monies paid out back. Maybe they will come through this time as well. I’m trying to give a one star for travel guard, but can’t seem to go lower than 2 stars. Right now, I have been kicked off of my Rick Steve’s tour for testing positive for covid. I had cold symptoms in the very small but lovely village of Dunkeld in Scotland and was tested by the tour leader. Since I tested positive, I was forced to stay behind in Dunkeld, which fortunately has a train station. I could not get into the one physician in Dunkeld and the hotel was full. I did have one further night there booked by the tour. AIG has been of no help whatsoever. They gave me phone numbers to call in the US, but I’m in the UK. I masked up and took a train to Glasgow. AIG recommended that I have a telehealth visit with a physician in MADRID - Spain! While a telehealth visit may be good for some things, not so good with respiratory issues. Otherwise, they suggested I go to an ER in Glasgow. I was not that ill to need an ER, the ER gave me the 24 hour of the NIH for nurse assistance, which AIG (even tho they have a headquarters in London.) AIG is saying that they won’t pay the claim without a positive test on file even though the Rick Steves office is verifying the positive result of the test done in the presence of their tour leader. AIG won’t tell me where to get the test done in Glasgow. It’s like some kind of unending circle game. I think that they are just trying to get out of paying my claim. Choose another travel insurance company. One that actually does what they say they will do. Otherwise, you are just throwing your money away.
