Platejoy Tracking Order Status

I really like Platejoy. It saves me a lot of money and the meals are easy to make. I like that I can dump my grocery list into Instacart. I think Platejoy is reasonably priced. I do the six- month subscription and it pays for itself after about two weeks.

I admit I am writing this review after just starting the free trial, but when signing up I was bummed to find out you couldn't select Low FODMAP diet + select a meat restriction option, so there is no option for full Low FODMAP + vegetarian, vegan, or pescatarian. I can fudge it a bit by choosing low carb then manually saying all the individual foods to exclude, but considering the vast number of foods on a Low FODMAP eliminate diet, that is quite a task, and honestly one of the things I was hoping this site would help with was specifically finding vegetarian/pescatarian + egg free low FODMAP meals, which are a chore to find a choose on one's own. I know that there are already extreme restrictions in low FODMAP diets but being able to at least choose meat restrictions, not to mention select specific food allergies/intolerances, Kosher, etc is pretty important too to make the low FODMAP option useful. If you are able to have the low FODMAP option at all, it would be good to see it be fully integrated with the other options. For other dietary restrictions this seems like a good service, and I will try it out using the jury-rigged option listed above, and if they change their options to improve the low FODMAP options I will absolutely up it to 5 star if the rest of the service does indeed work out well after using it, but since it is a bit funky for the main use I was hoping out of it, I have to give it 3 star for now.

I paid $69 for six months and saved more than that in groceries my first week! Virtually no food waste in our house anymore. I'm very happy with Platejoy.

I got pulled into their subscription (via auto-renewal) unaware the trial period ended. I reached out to PlateJoy asking them if they could cancel and refund me. I was told that it was past the “10-day” window so a refund wasn’t possible, which I was fine with since it was my fault for not canceling prior to the trial ending, so I ended up taking the $99 hit. I wasn’t a fan of the app itself because it lacked recipes to fit my diet and realized that there were a lot more recipes (and free) online. Anyways, my main complaint is that after I had canceled my subscription, I got charged again the following year. This is FRAUD. To avoid getting charged once again, I immediately went on the FAQs on the PlateJoy website to learn how to cancel my account for the second time now. I followed the instructions only to find out that the information was misleading. THERE IS NO WAY TO CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION ON THE WEBSITE. I had to open up my old email thread to contact them because their contact info isn’t provided anywhere. FYI, I found out that their email is linked to their chat box so that’s how you can contact them or via their social media platforms I suppose. Anyhow, I was fortunate to get my refund back “as a one-time courtesy” and my subscription was finally canceled for good (hopefully). However, I did not receive one apology for the inconvenience from the company. They didn’t even address my concern for future customers looking to cancel their subscriptions. They take no ownership and pretend that this case is one of its kind. I know business and can tell you it’s a scam - by providing misleading information and not making cancellation an option known to customers. This is not a professional company at all. I hope they change their sneaky ways and are more transparent and fair to their customers. I would be very careful with this company...hope this helps. Best of luck. Update: I'm changing this review from 1 to 3 because of the leadership Nicole has shown. She stepped in and addressed my concern of its entirety with utmost courtesy. There might have been a technical issue on my account that disabled me from seeing the cancellation prompt, which their developers are looking into. While PlateJoy still might not be right for my needs, I hope others enjoy the services that they bring!

I haven't gotten a recipe I don't like yet, and I've been doing PlateJoy for several months now. I am losing weight and my lab tests say I'm getting healthier! I especially like the single serving recipes since I am only cooking for myself. I highly recommend PlateJoy!
