My wife got me a small Pit Boss PB600 model, won with a $20 raffle ticket. Ain't nuthin better than a bone-in ribeye, 20 minutes on each side at 250 on the top rack, then reverse-seared for a few minutes on each side at 400, using a 50-50 mix of hickory and cherry pellets.

I purchases the 850 CS and first I was not able to connect to their app. I called and the attitude was very meh "yeah we've been having problems, try it again in a week or two"! The after 3 weeks still could not connect so i call again and I got a I don't care attitude from their "customer service" and I was now told that I had to split my wifi signal! So after another 1/2 hour with my provider it finally worked then it wreaked havoc on everything we had hook to wifi!

3 or 4 years ago I bought the, "Pit Boss Laredo 1000 Platinum. I have smoked meats on this thing since the day I bought it, and loved. About 2 months ago I couldn't set the temp. from the grill. I called customer service and was helped promptly. The Pit Boss rep, ran through several scenarios and found out I had a bad control panel. I was asked some basic information about how long I had my grill. I was asked my shipping address and they sent me a new control panel, at 0 cost to me. This is a grill that sits out in the weather, all though I did buy the grill cover and it stays covered when not in use, it's still in the weather. I can't believe the world class customer service of this company! I will definitely buy more Pit Boss products. Tommy Humbles

Edited on 02/05/2024 to increase to three stars: On 01/10/2024 I also left a review of the parent company, Dansons, on the BBB website. A rep reached out to me and after seeing screen shots of the chat and photos of the unit, sent us a new unit for which I am thankful so increasing from one star to three. --- My smoker arrived damaged. As it was purchased as a gift there was over a 30 day delay in opening the box and seeing the smoker/damage which translated to both Tractor Supply and Pit Boss using as an excuse to not concern themselves with the damage. I contacted Pit Boss over a month ago and they said that they would send a new meat probe which has not yet happened. I contacted them a second time today and was again told that they'd send one out. We'll see. When I asked if the probe system would be under warranty as we are not yet sure if it is only the probe or the entire system that is broken (along with a scratched and dented interior which Pit Boss has made abundantly clear is not their concern or responsibility) I was told that I wouldn't be given a different answer then I was "previously met with" and then abruptly disconnected from chat. Ummm. Okay. No previous answer was given that I can remember... other than that they don't see my concerns about their product as being their concerns. They want my money for the damaged smoker but don't want to "listen" to me tell them of my being upset about paying over $500 for a broken/damaged smoker sold as new. Their customer service acted as if my concerns regarding substantial issues tried their patience. They are not a company that wants to provide a good/solid product. And using a 30 day policy when a 90 day policy is the norm is ridiculous, especially when overweight shipping is involved. My experience with Pit Boss has made me regret upgrading our smoker and I would caution others. I wish I would have chosen a different smoker/ company. I have no doubt that there would be a different outcome on a brand new item.

I have a series 4 Pro vertical pellet smoker purchased from Lowe’s. So far my experience has been very good. As with all cooking devices there is some trial and error with dialing in for great cooking. The product performs as expected. Temperature is held well but note that on colder days you will need to bump it up some to offset. Recently I had some issues with connectivity in Bluetooth and WiFi. I called Pitboss and spoke to a customer representative. They listened to my issue and sent me a new control module free of charge plus very good repair instructions. That is great customer service. In summary, great product and great service. Good job Pitboss team!
