Mike's Bike Tracking Order Status

I purchased a gravel bike and hard tail mtb from Mike’s Bikes this year. Both internet purchases which were picked up in SF store. Everything went smooth and as expected as far as sales expectations and experience. Where they absolutely exceeded expectations was in the service department. I’ve been treated like family here in the way they receive me and take care of my bikes. Not just regular service either. Sometimes I work on my bikes and screw things up. I’ve been dissed by snooty shops in the past (American Cyclery). But not here, nothing but love. Additionaly I recently crashed my beloved new SC Stigmata at high speed causing all kinds of mechanical havoc. Not only were the service staff kind but extremely proficient in mechanicals to reset everything nicely and get me riding again. Shout out to Devin and Rene (and other staff for sure) for setting the gold standard in professionalism. It is very difficult to write good reviews for bike shops, but not this one is easy. 6 stars ******

I found Mikes Bikes to be friendly, knowledgeable., and helpful. They gave sound advice without being patronising, they carry a good selection of spares and quickly got in stuff they didn't carry, I have no reservations in recommending this shop

I recently purchased a bike online from Mike's Bikes, a Cannondale Synapse 2. I could have bought it from my local bike shop, but at that price point I'm going to be picky about color and they didn't have mint green in stock at LBS, so Mike's it was. The first thing that bothered me about Mike's is that their "Wheelsmith Gold Label Assembly" is mandatory. You can't buy a bike online from them without having it pre-assembled in their shop. Fine, whatever, but I'd prefer to have LBS do the assembly. The bike arrived sooner than I anticipated which was great, but the $69 assembly was frankly disappointing. They left a sticker on the handlebars that they partially wrapped under the tape which was tricky to remove. One of the cranks arrived pretty scratched up. And their mechanics didn't wire the front light and radar display to the bike's battery/control unit, so I had to remove the battery compartment and fish the cable through myself to get it all working. I would expect more if they're not going to give you a choice, especially if they call it a "gold label" service. Now I'm going to need to take it to LBS to make sure nothing else was overlooked in assembly.

These guys got my bike into wonderful working order whilst still retaining its retro charm, super grateful!! Can't wait to take it on some longer rides! Thank you Mike's Bikes!! Very touched by the attention to detail!
