I joined, using a special offer which was to include 6 wines plus 2 bottles of another well rated wine. Order came with 2 bottles of a different wine than promised, but they do have a disclaimer that they have the right to substitute if wines are unavailable. Still, there was no note or explanation why the original promised wines were replaced. I canceled my membership, but not in time to cancel next shipment. So we get the next shipment and it has 2 of the same bottles that were sent in the first order, 3 Syrahs (not much variation or new wines here). Hate that I have to pay for this order, and glad I cancelled. We also use First Leaf and they’ve been amazing, sending new wines every time, with detailed wine description cards for each wine. A much better choice, in my opinion. Edited to note response from Vinesse: I did receive a call from a CS rep from Vinesse after they read this review. They offered me a partial refund for the 2nd shipment, and will send 2 additional bottles of wine to replace the duplicates. I don’t need to return anything. I appreciated the call and their willingness to work with me.

Good wines? Yes. Do you want to have to tell a "wine club" that you're going out of town so that they don't ship you $150 worth of overpriced wine and quote policy when you ask for a refund? Then don't sign up. I signed up for the airline miles. By the time you get done getting screwed by the fine print of "automatic enrollment" and pre-notification if you're not going to be around to receive shipments, you'd be better off to buy a wine tote for $20 and some airline miles.

I've tried a number of wine clubs and I have to say Vinesse is way down the list. If I was Robert Parker, I'd give it, say, a 42. Harsh on the palate with notes of poor customer interface, mediocre quality and delayed delivery. I'd put this back on the shelf and see if it matures. On the other hand, why bother? Stick with a club that cares, like Naked Wines.

One of the main reasons that I chose to purchase wine from their site was the ' Satisfaction Guarantee' - that if you were not satisfied by a bottle you had received, they would replace it. No hassle. Out of six bottles, I found two that I could not drink, so I contacted the company for replacements under their terms and conditions. I was then told that they would only send replacements with the next order. Now, having found two of the wines putrid and undrinkable, I have no intention of ordering any more. I told them this, so I can't get my replacements in accordance with their terms and conditions, as advertised. This is false advertising. If you wish to purchase their wines, then please disregard their Satisfaction Guarantee.

The first thing that potential customer should know, is in the event that if you seek a refund to your bank account, you won't get it. They will only provide a merchandize credit on their site. They keep your money. I tried the introductory offer last year, then closed my account, because I didn't think that the wine in the bottle was of the quality that would attract a full price of $20 - $25 a bottle. Last month I saw an introductory offer from a company called American Cellars wine club, so thought I would give it a try. I think the offer was 6 bottles for around $40. I received the case. When I checked my bank account, it showed that $129.99 was taken for the 6 bottles. I phoned customer services. They told me that American Cellars and Vinesse were one in the same and because I had received an earlier offer, I was billed full price on this occasion. I asked how could this occur, that surely their system should have refused my order. I was told that it wouldn't. By ordering on a closed account, I had reopened it somehow?? And the full price wine was sent to me, even though I hadn't ordered. Of course they said that I could return the wine within 3 business days from UPS with no charge up front. When they received the wine, they would deduct $30 for delivery back to them and then give me a merchandize credit. They would keep my money. I don't want to deal with this company, so rather than play their game of 'no refunds' I'll keep the wine and put this down to experience of a very dubious company.
