Budget service but be vigilant for unwanted charges

After an initial mishap with the sim card going to another address (possibly my fault), the sim arrived and set up. Pretty good service, but spotty on a trip to WV. Be careful if you add any 'extras' in the BoostOne app, as the default seems to be 'recurring' and you'll then need to call to remove this.

Horrible customer service & international service

I have been with Boost Mobile for at least 8 years now and I will admit they have great service for a great price. However, two important things they are missing are acceptable International service and customer service. For a long time, they had no option for service outside of the US. Now, they have started offering e-sims that are data packs for when traveling abroad. They are somewhat functional, but there are many issues with them. Firstly, not all the data packs work (which I found out the hard way). When traveling to Japan, I bought a 10day, 3 gig data pack before leaving and it worked well while I was there (until it ran out of data before the 10 days were up - it does warn you that it works for either 10 days or until the data is used, so I was not surprised). However I then purchased another data pack, this time a 15day 5 gig pack and it did not work - even after following all of their instructions. As I needed to be able to connect to google maps and call people via WhatsApp for the next 6 days, I purchased another 10day pack and it worked just fine. On the 2nd to last day of the trip, I ran out of data again and not wanting to purchase another 10 day pack, I bought the smallest and cheapest one, a 7 day, 1 gig pack. This one also did not work therefore causing me to have to purchase a third 10 day package. When I arrived back in the US I wrote to Boost's customer service, kindly explaining the problem and requesting either a refund or a credit to my account because their products were not functional and I spent over a month's phone bill. After getting through the automated system to a real person, they absolutely refused to refund me or credit the account saying that Boost Esim is a separate website. When I noted that this website has no customer service option on it so it is their responsibility to stand by their product, they tried to pretend that I didn't follow the activation steps properly and I should not have made any purchases outside of the country. But when I reminded them that 2 of the 4 Esims I purchased while in Japan actually worked, they had no answer to why the others didn't function and refused to send the issue to a supervisor or someone else who can resolve it. Overall review: Use Boost if you never want to leave the country and if you feel you will never have a service issue to be resolved, or never want to be helped in resolving an issue. Additionally, do not buy their e-sim service no matter what. It is inconsistent - it might work, it might not and then you may be stranded without cell phone service and without any customer service agents who actual intend to help you.

Service is just okay

Service is okay, but trying to transfer service into or out of Boost is a huge pain, especially for those who were force migrated from another Sprint MVNO. Getting a port out pin is very time consumptive and cannot be done without speaking with a representative trying to push the $25 plan on you.
